What Happened to the new book?

Well Gals, Wouldn't you know it, I forgot to mention the most important thing yesterday. The new book "Won't You Let Me Love You"..We thought it would be finished by now....I just found out that the 2 main characters of the book have left town, can you believe that?

Here we are at the climax of the story and these knuckleheads take off to Europe.( I think.) Neecey is pissed! She's being very tight lipped about it...You can believe, the shit will hit the fan when they return.

I think she has been in contact with them and they are going to return very shortly. Maybe by the end of February 2017. I told her to offer a bribe or something, it is a shame to keep all your readers waiting like that.. ( you know how finicky these characters can be sometimes). Keep your fingers crossed! by jhs

Hi blog friends. Let’s see. In the last week I listened to Shifting Shadows: Stories from the World of Mercy Thompson, by Patricia Briggs. These are a series of short stories. I’ve read most of the shorts in this book before, but it was nice to listen to them. Actually, there was one story that I skipped after the first ten minutes. Just could not get into it. The new stories were entertaining, and overall the book was good.

I also listened to Son of No One (Dark-Hunter Novels) by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I’m usually excited when there is a new Dark-Hunter book released, but I don’t know if this is really a Dark-Hunter book. It had some of the Hunters in it, but to me they were not featured enough to classify this as a DH book. I liked the story though, and I usually Love Holter Graham’s narration but was not to crazy about it this time. I guess since there were so many characters in the story, they seemed to run together from time to time, and I found myself rewinding my iPod to see if I could catch what I’d missed.

Ok. So I don’t watch television. Before I go to bed, I read, and I usually wake up around 5 am and read before getting out of bed. When I’m commuting to and from work, I read… starting to see a pattern here?

Anyway. I won’t mention the number of books that I read last week cause I may look like more of a loon, but I did read, Deal with a Demon, by Celeste Easton, I haven’t read many demon romance novels, but of the one’s that I’ve read, this one was one of the good ones. Storm Bound (The Grim Series) by Dani Harper, I did like this story, even though I did not care for Brooke, I loved Aidan. And, The Beautiful Ashes (A Broken Destiny Novel) by Jeaniene Frost. I’ve read all of Jeaniene Frost books and usually look for them in stores, but I could not get into this book. I did not finish it, so I think I’ll put it away until I’m in a better place mentally and try again at another time.

Drum roll please!!!

So. Instead of reading, I’ve been listening to Audiobooks the last two weeks while I work. It’s a great way to deal with the mundane crap that you hate, but I know I’m totally addicted now.

So in the last week I’ve listened to, Redemption: The Penton Legacy, Book 1 , Absolution: The Penton Legacy, Book 2 , Omega: The Penton Legacy, Book 3 , and Allegiance: The Penton Legacy, Book 4 , all from the Penton Legacy series by Susannah Sandlin. I really liked all of these. My favorite was Absolution. I really loved Mirren and Glory together. He was a hard ass, but sweet with her, and she was so sassy. They just fit.

Also listened to Dark Blood: Dark, Book 26 by Christine Feehan which was ok. Oh, and Crave the Night: A Midnight Breed Novel by Lara Adrian, which was ok too. This surprised me since I usually totally love her books.

My husband is really into this SEO stuff. And he keeps telling me I need to blog. “You need to blog a few times a week”, he keeps saying. “You need to write at least 200 words”, he says. Wonder if I write the same word about fifty times how quickly he’d notice it? Hmmm.

And, drum roll please....here is a post of my new book cover!!! Finally!! The book should be available on or before December 15. Synopsis and 1st chapter coming soon. ;-)

It's been 4 years, I mean, 4 months since my last blog. What Have I been doing, these last few months. Mostly working at my job that pays the bills, instead of working at my career of writing. I know, I'm a jerk, but I get a little testy when BG&E threatens to turn off the lights. Sooo, needless to say, I've been dragging my ass on the new books.

In the last few months I've read Until I Saw Your Smile , by J. J. Murray. This was a sweet, but humorous romance. Matthew was a very lovable character, but it took until I was 2/3 through the book before I started liking Angela.

The City: A Novel by Dean Koontz. I read everything Dean Koontz, but I could not finish this book. I think I made it about halfway before giving up. I don’t know what the problem was. The book seemed to drag on and on. The story probably got a lot better towards the end, but I just couldn’t take anymore.

Oh, and SERGEI (Her Russian Protector #5) by Roxie Rivera. I really, really, really liked this one. Sergei and Bianca were a great couple, even though Bianca is a wedding dress designer opposed to anything having to do with criminal activities, and Sergei was an mob enforcer, they still fit perfectly. On Goodreads, I just had to give this book 5 stars.

Kenya Wright‘s An Arrangement of Love (Interracial Erotic Romance) , was a fantastic read. I really liked Jasmine. She was funny and sassy, but she was also a down to earth woman who made mistakes like the rest of us. I went from sort of liken Chase  to hating him to loving him, and I totally love Jasmine’s brother and best friend. In my book, this is definitely a 5 star. Can't wait for the sequel.
